I describe my style as Elegant Grunge. I like feeling pretty, but I also like being down and dirty!
SJD Elegant Grunge
I love my lifestyle, which allows me to wear what I want every single day! My Bali uniform is a pair of One Teaspoon ripped denim shorts, a Zara Basic top, and a pair of Havaianas. When I go out, I still want a grunge vibe, but to also feel elegant. I generally wear something like a Blooming Leopard leather skirt, a Magali Pascal soft blouse and my favourite Bali Tailor ankle boots.
When you live as an expat, you want to maintain your personal style and not succumb to local or tourist trends. Having lived in Bali for two years, I have hunted down the best boutiques stocking my style and favourite brands. It is possible to exist on an Island like Bali and shop like you are in Paddington! Seminyak houses the majority of the premium boutiques in Bali, but also has a mix of streetwear stores which is the perfect combination for me.
Big Brands in Bali
Aside from Seminyak boutique shopping, there are a number of largescale shopping centres housing big brands such as Zara and H&M. Perfect for the basics that every girl needs. Beachwalk in Kuta and Mal Bali Galeria are the best stops for big name shopping.
OAGD First Fashion Post
For my first fashion post, I wanted to share an oufit that optiomises my style and showcases two of my favourite brands. Magali Pascal and One Teaspoon. Both available to shop in Bali. The black denim One Teaspoon Bandits are a staple for me and combined with the soft floral blouse from Magali Pascal, and ankle boots – makes SJD.
