The Frankitas bag collection is now available in Bali! I had the opportunity to be included in a magical photo shoot involving Frankitas Bags. We discovered one of the most incredible hidden venues on the Island of Bali Taman Festival Bali. Frankitas In Bali was a great experience and something I’d love to share.
A colourful and sophisticated collection of clutches and purses, Frankitas Bags are something special. The bags are a perfect fit for island living and island holidaying. Made from traditional ethnic textiles and rich in heritage and history. Every bag is infused with striking contemporary colours and design.
Supporting skilled artisans from Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Africa and Central Asia, Frankitas uses traditional textile motifs. Motifs included are the likes of Ikat, Batik, Songket and Tenun Rangrang. These elements are synonymous in the signature statement of the Frankitas brand, and act as an eye catching detail on every woman that carries one.
Frankitas’ collection is handcrafted by talented men and women from different parts of Indonesia and Malaysia. The collection provides designs and colours to suit all personalities.
Not one for bright colours, the small clutch in grey silk with black paint spatters was really appealing to me. Also with a muted gold chain, it provided another alternative to a standard clutch. The brighter clutches were a perfect fit with the location. The mood was colourful, fun and showcased how the bags can adapt to different environments.
Taman Festival Bali
What a perfect setting for this photo shoot. Taman Festival Bali is just north of Sanur on the Island of Bali. It is an abandoned animal theme park that never came to fruition. More than 15 years ago the park was left unfinished and as urban myth has it, crocodiles and many other reptiles were left in the park and may still remain there.
Romeo & Juliet
It could have been on the set of Romeo & Juliet with Leonardo appearing at any moment. Set on the beachfront there is a large open steel structure that frames the park. Underneath lies a myriad of empty and trashed rooms with the most amazing colourful and creative graffiti detail.
Bali ‘off the beaten’ track
From the abandoned Theatre to staircases and spooky enclosed rooms, Taman Bali Festival is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Just make sure you take a big stick or a bodyguard in case any of the snakes or reptiles want to play.
