Our “Shred 10” transformation program is based around the super yummy Complete Shakes – a whole food based nutrition drink. These shakes have become part of our daily family routine. I have a shake for either breakfast or lunch everyday and get excited to mix up different recipes all the time. They taste awesome, and satisfy the hunger. My son has a shake for breakfast every morning and I know I am sending him off to school with a good hit of energy and nutrition. So yum!
Top Tips
My three biggest tips for creating the best smoothies are:
- Don’t overload your smoothies with too many ingredients. Keep it simple!
- Add ICE! The colder the better.
- Get good jars. It’s all part of the experience.
Top 5 Shredding Smoothies
Below are my Top 5 smoothie recipes.
1. ‘Go To’ Vanilla
This is my all time favourite. Quick, easy and soooooo yum!
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Complete
- ½ Frozen Banana
- 1 Tablespoon Almond Butter
- Cinnamon
- 250ml Almond Milk
- Ice!
- Add water to desired consistency
2. Green Goodness
Everyone loves a green smoothie! I love adding Spirulina powder for extra colour and boost!
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Complete
- 1 tsp Spirulina
- Handful of Kale
- Cinnamon
- ½ Frozen Banana
- 250ml Coconut Water
- Ice!
- Add water to desired consistency
3. Yes – Pumpkin!
Believe it or not, pumpkin is an awesome addition to smoothies. It adds an amazing sweetness and gives a nice creamy texture. Try it!
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Complete
- 4 chunks of Roast Pumpkin (in Coconut Oil)
- Handful of Spinach
- Cinnamon
- 250ml Almond Milk
- Ice!
- Add water to desired consistency
4. Nearly There Snickers
If you’re after a sweet fix, this is for you. Try this for dinner, or after dinner and it will satisfy your choco craving!
Ingredients:
- Chocolate Complete
- 1 tablespoon Almond Butter
- Cinnamon
- 250ml Almond milk
- Ice!
- Add water to desired consistency
5. BB Bang
Bananas and Berries in a Smoothie make for a colourful and nutritional Bang!
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Complete
- ¼ Cup frozen blueberries (or mixed berries)
- ½ frozen banana
- Cinnamon
- 250ml Coconut Milk
- Add water to desired consistency
Note:
The supporting liquid in any of the above recipes can be swapped out with a liquid of your choice. Suggestions: Almond Milk, Low Fat Soy Milk, Coconut Water, Coconut Milk etc. Or combinations of filtered water and milk works well too.
