My Bali shopping experience hit a high recently when I discovered the brand Sancerre. I met with Founder and Creative Director, Australian Sarah Wilkinson and instantly connected to the style of Sancerre and the energy that Sarah brings to it. Suddenly I was Wanderlusting with Sancerre The Brand.
Sancerre was born through Sarah’s love of travel and design. On a trip to Sancerre in Central France, she was given a souvenir vintage medallion by a local village elder. This moment set the path for Sarah both professionally and personally. Using the medallion as inspiration, Sarah developed a successful and iconic jewellery line which has since evolved into what we now know as ‘Sancerre The Brand’.
Now with Bali as her home, Sarah uses the Island and her spirit of bohemian wanderlust as the inspiration behind her designs. Drawing on local craftsmanship from hand drawn motifs and screen printed fabrics, Sancerre is a brand that takes you on a journey.
Raw edging and light gorgeous fabrics make up Sancerre’s current collection. It’s the perfect combination for that elegant grunge feel. Sarah and I laughed about the teaming of her garments with boots – our joint love and obsession! The collections are adaptable for so many environments. With or without shoes. Flats, boots or heels. A Sancerre outfit can take you from Morocco to Paris. What’s your next destination?
The dress I wear in this post is the Ashley Penida Dress in Oyster and is also available in Graphite (almost black). With it’s dramatic cross back and front pinafore detail, it’s simply elegant and easy to wear. The fabric is both luxurious in look and feel and with its raw cut edging this dress has gorgeous character. It’s a best seller for Sancerre and a must have for summer festivities!
